About me

My name is Nina Gmeiner. I‘m an artist, born and living in Austria.

For as long as I can remember, creativity has been my way of making sense of the world - my language, my sanctuary. As a child, I would lose myself in colors and forms, shaping inner visions into something tangible.

Life, however, led me on a winding path. I became a mother of three and spent quite a few years working as a carpenter, crafting with wood and building with my own hands. I loved that work - the material, the diversity of work steps to craft furniture out of almost a tree - yet over time, I felt my energy burning out. The daily physical grind slowly pulled me away from my artistic essence.

So with my youngest child growing up, painting called me back with even more commitment. I can see, that my skills develop with each piece of work and I’m curious of what I will create in the future.

Why Alchemichal Art?

It started, when I began to paint with intention. I had the idea to do a painting for each chakra and along with that process, I set the intention to get them cleared and spinning. I noticed, that this really took me on a journey of self-discovery and healing.

Then a book fell into my hands that really stirred something within me, as I was trying to get more in touch with my feminine aspects. It was “You are a Goddess“ by Sophie Bashford. It brought up the idea to create a painting for each of the 9 godesses introduced in this book, to really get into relationship with these archetypes. I found out for me, that each piece felt almost like an extended ceremony with synchronistic life circumstances, triggering and purging old wounds, patterns and beliefs. And also showing me so much magic and beauty. Each work became mirror, a teacher, a companion on the path.

…it was an alchemical process!

I hope for people, who are resonating with my art, to maybe feel the transformational energy that I put into my work.
